Job Title: Technical Advisor

Location: Harlow

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum

Position: Full Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)

The Company currently have a position available for a Technical Advisor to join their busy team. They are rapidly expanding and are looking for a motivated individual to help increase their customer base so if you are driven and committed to success, they want to hear from you!

Role Overview:

As a Technical Advisor, you will provide first line technical advice for all oils and lubricants to their customers, in-house teams and clients.

You will have an in-depth understanding of their supplier products and work with the Operations Director to manage a wide range of customer queries and deliver clear and concise technical advice to their customers across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Correctly specify appropriate oil products to be used for specific applications (vehicles and non-road mobile machinery) for all lubricant’s products
  • To support and secure technical partnership and provide coaching within the distributors sales and technical team
  • Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of their supplier products and lubricants
  • Provide front line technical support to customers and sales staff including problem solving, troubleshooting and application advice
  • Ensuring the Material Safety Data Sheet is updated at all times
  • Provide basic failure diagnosis for lubrication related failure (e.g. bearing or gear) where lubricants quality or practices are in question
  • Prepare customer plant/equipment audits, lubrication surveys, product rationalisation audits and conduct field trials, as necessary to support the overall business strategy
  • Quality control of the products and lubricants
  • Product development

The successful Candidate will have/ be:

  • Engineering / oil knowledge in industry or transport, or related discipline
  • Able to technically support a multitude of diverse issues across technical disciplines
  • Knowledge in the oil industry (ideally but not necessary)
