Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Long Eaton – Commutable from Nottingham/Derby/Leicester

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum,

Job Type: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak), 6-month Contract

The role:

Manufacturing is at the heart of the TecQuipment high quality brand, and as such the systems that need to be in place are business critical. This is a very rare opportunity to work within a high-tech, high-quality market leading company. We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to supplement our existing IT Department on a 6-month contract.

You will work with the existing IT Team who are currently focused on a SAP implementation project. The main focus of the role will be to provide a high-quality IT service to support colleagues in delivering the business needs. The role will cover all aspects of the company IT systems, including hardware and software support, network security and peripheral equipment.

This will be a varied role exposing you to all areas of the company, and the tasks will range from system administration or helping staff with software issues, to hands on practical tasks such as installing new hardware and its associated infrastructure. You should have a roll your sleeves up attitude and be able to organise your workload to cope with the varying daily challenges.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Handling technical support incidents, requests and changes
  • Providing updates and ensuring ongoing customer communication is maintained
  • Make improvements to Wi-Fi/network when required
  • Recommend and install new hardware solutions to include shopfloor data capture solutions, also printer and phone systems
  • IT network housekeeping and system administration
  • Escalating calls to third party support company as necessary
  • Performing software builds and re-builds on PCs and laptops as required
  • Fixing hardware faults and installing upgrades to client hardware

Essential Experience from Candidate:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Windows server 2012 upwards
  • Active directory/group policy
  • Exchange 2016/365
  • Data backup and recovery
  • Antivirus
  • 2FA requirements and methods
  • Experience of supporting ERP systems

Desirable Experience from Candidate:

  • Experience with Dynamics AX2009
  • Experience with SAP B1
