Job Title: Trainee Assistant Accountant

Salary: £22,777 – £26,845

The role of Trainee Assistant Accountant is ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in accountancy and willing to obtain professional qualifications. We are seeking someone who has the drive and ambition to learn new skills and help us build a stronger team for the future.

If you are reliable and accurate in your work, possess good numerical skills and a basic understanding of accounting principles, and are a team player, we would love to hear from you.

You will need to demonstrate experience of working in a relevant office environment and knowledge of working with spreadsheets and an integrated Financial Management System.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing financial advice and support to council officers
  • Budgetary control, including the preparation of regular monitoring reports
  • Maintenance of the financial ledger system
  • Reconciliations
  • Preparing annual budgets
  • Year-end accounts
  • Completion of statistical returns.

You will be expected to demonstrate in your supporting statement how you meet the key accountabilities and competencies detailed within the recruitment pack.
