Job Title: Trainee Branch Administrator

Location: Manchester

Salary: Competitive

Job type: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17.00, Friday 08:30 to 16.00.

Star Refrigeration is the UK’s largest independent industrial refrigeration and multi-faceted engineering group, founded in 1970 with locations across the UK and overseas the company is comprised of six business units and currently has around 400 employees throughout the Group.

The Branch

The Branch is located in Greengate Middleton. The branch consists of a team of 17 employees, made up mainly of refrigeration engineers and supported by one Branch Administrator.

The Role

The Trainee Branch Administrator will provide administrative support to the branch whilst working closely alongside the Branch Administrator to help us meet our business objectives. The duties within the role are broad and include a range of responsibilities which include but not limited to;

Key Duties

  • Provide a high standard of administrative support to the branch
  • Maintain a positive company image when dealing with customers by phone or in person
  • Gain knowledge of company processes and procedures

Financial

  • Accurate input of labour and material costs to IFS
  • Raise and receipt purchase orders in IFS
  • Awareness of invoice processing
  • Scan and assemble supporting documentation

Customers

  • Answer calls in a professional manner and direct appropriately
  • Welcome visitors to company premises

Technology

  • Use of IFS system
  • Increase knowledge of IFS processes
  • Collate information and present in the required format using Microsoft applications
  • Identify scope for improvement opportunities

People and Processes

  • Maintain paper/electronic filing systems
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Develop understanding of company documentation
  • Understanding of Star administration procedures

The Candidate:

The role is suited to an individual who is motivated, confident and willing to learn.

  • Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to take initiative
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
