Job Title: Trainee Logistics Supervisor

Job type: Full Time/permanent – 37.5 hrs week Monday – Friday (9:30 – 18:00)

We are an ethical and fast-growing company, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Logistics Supervisor to join our team of exceptional people.
The role is based at our Materials Recycling Facility in Purfleet RM15 4YA. As one of London’s biggest waste & recycling firms which is quickly growing winning prestigious contracts, this is an excellent opportunity for the right person. We are looking for someone bright & ambitious, hard-working and flexible that will be with us for the long run.
About the role:
As our Trainee Logistics Supervisor, reporting to Head of Operations, you will be learning all aspects of our logistics department starting with route planning. You will learn how to plan routes, route optimisation, reporting and covering holiday. You will also be involved in debriefing our drivers and helping them out on the road when issues arise.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist route planner with planning routes, route optimisation, reporting and covering route planner holiday.
- Debrief drivers, ensuring job details discussed in full & RFID completed on debrief.
- Deputise for shift manager ensuring all collections completed successfully.
- Administration duties
- Any other duties as requested
Skills and experience sought:
- 2 years’ experience within a busy logistics office
- Live within 1 hour’s drive of Purfleet RM15
- Good computer skills in Microsoft programmes
- Good written and spoken English
