Job Title: Trainee School Capacity Consultant

Location: Poulton-le-Fylde

Salary: £21,000 – £25,000 per annum + 23 Days Holiday

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

A new opportunity has arisen working for School Property Matters (SPM) as a Trainee School Capacity Consultant.

The role will be mainly office based but there may be a requirement to travel to school sites around the country to aide training and to gain the necessary knowledge to do the job. This occasionally may require an overnight stay. It is a full-time role within the company working 40 hours Monday to Friday.

School Property Matters operates nationally in a niche market with offices in Lancashire and Hertfordshire. Founded in 2002, the company has worked with over two thousand five hundred schools and is highly respected in its market for the honest and valued data and reports supplied.

SPM provides pupil capacity analysis services, CAD plans and condition surveys to schools. Helping to inform facilities management, admissions processes, and assist in negotiations for capital funds when schools are varying their size. All customers are schools and organisations managing schools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is to provide support to the production team and become competent in analysing data and producing reports for schools and our partners.

Initially the job will involve some administrative tasks that will help build your knowledge of the company and the product. The main focus of your job will be the analysis of data and the production of capacity reports but flexibility in the role will be expected.

The day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Breaking down and analysing school timetable data
  • Producing school capacity reports
  • Communicating with customers to make sure we have all the data needed for a project
  • Supporting the wider production team

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent at report writing.
  • Good at handling and interpreting large quantities of data.
  • Competent with Apple and Microsoft Office programs.

More detailed knowledge of Excel and Pages would be an advantage. To succeed you will also need to be driven, inquisitive, have an attention to detail and be good at problem solving.
