Job Title: Transactional Payroll Officers x 4 (People Transaction Services)

Location: Romford, Essex, RM1 3DT

Salary: Scale 6 – £30,699 – £31,731 per annum

Job type: Full time, Permanent

About the role:

The Transactional Payroll Officers will work in either of the two Local Authority Corporate Teams, the successful candidate (s) will need to have relevant payroll experience and be able to manage a busy workload, and in return the candidate will be supported by a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing your own payroll portfolio
  • Having responsibility to process data in line with relevant HMRC and other payroll and statutory legislation. i.e. Processing Statutory Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, Tax code changes
  • Scrutinising payroll output to ensure accuracy of the months data input
  • Being able to provide guidance and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Using the Oracle Fusion Payroll System, experience in this system is advantageous
  • Working with other teams across the authority to ensure efficient service received to employees
  • Where required calculating manual payments from gross to net
