Job Title: Transport Administrator

Location: Wakefield, Yorkshire

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time – Permanent

The Role/Candidate:

We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Administrator for our prestigious Heavy Crane Division based in Wakefield. The overall job role is to work within the transport and Heavy crane division to plan the day-to-day operations of the department. You must be able to demonstrate a positive, “can-do” attitude and high attention to detail. The candidate must have previous experience of a Transport or Plant hire related role with good geographical knowledge.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Routing of abnormal loads to the notifiable authorities.
  • Plan and allocate drivers to meet daily requirements.
  • Ensure that all delivery paperwork is correct and issued to the drivers insufficient time.
  • Maintain the Transport Diary and ensure it is kept updated at all times.
  • Check weekly driver’s timesheets and process for payroll.
  • tachograph and driver’s hours administration.
  • Update driver files and records.

Desirable:

  • Abhaulier routing system knowledge
  • Java rental System – Although full training will be given with all internal systems.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Great organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to juggle an ever-changing workload and adapt to priorities
  • Experienced user of Microsoft office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and online booking sites
  • Able to articulate problems or queries to line managers and/or department managers
    Confident and capable of working effectively as part of a busy team
