Job Title: Transport Manager
Location: Ashington, West Sussex, RH20 2LW
Salary: £45,000 per annum plus bonus and company vehicle
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Reporting to: Fleet Manager
BPH is an independently-owned plant hire company based in the South East. From excavators and dozers, to dumpers and telehandlers, we’ve been supplying a huge variety of heavy machinery for hire to the construction industry for over 50 years.
Key Duties:
- Managing a team of 10 drivers (ensuring training is kept up to date)
- Manage and maintain O licence for 3 UK operating centres
- FORS Compliance – able to consistently maintain current Silver status
- Tachograph related data management
- Ensure all Legal, Health & Safety, Transport and Company policies are adhered to
- Implementation and review of all driver policies and procedures
- Monitor and manage driver behaviour in line with company policies
- Monitor fuel and tyre usage in the aim to reduce down time and reduce unnecessary wastage
- Ensure accident and incident reporting policy is strictly adhered to
- Monitor emerging good practice trends in the industry and adopt where appropriate
- Ad-hoc transport management duties as required
About you:
- CPC Transport Management qualification – essential
- Proven experience of managing transport compliance
- Proven previous experience of passing and maintaining FORs audits
- Previous experience of managing a team of drivers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work at pace whilst maintaining an accurate, high-quality output
- Good administrative and organisational skills
