The Impact You Will Have:

You’ll be immersed in a fast-paced and problem-solving environment where every day you will be pivotal in building relationships with our suppliers whilst maintaining the highest quality of service.

As a UK & Ireland Freight Specialist, you will be essential in providing the best solutions for our customers. You will discover the most commercially viable methods of transporting freight; pallets, full loads, out of gauge etc around the UK and Ireland. On a day-to-day basis, you will ensure operations run efficiently whilst building and developing relationships with suppliers to build loyalty, ensuring quality and continuity of service.

A Typical Day:

  • Providing advice on the best solutions and transport methods for pallets, full loads, groupage, out of gauge etc.
  • Requesting and gathering quotations from suppliers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Advising and collaborating with the sales team to find the best solutions to meet our customers’ expectations.
  • Working closely with colleagues and third parties to ensure the operation runs smoothly to achieve deadlines.
  • Researching and planning routes for shipment.
  • Maintaining communication and control throughout all phases of the UK & Ireland operations process ensuring all necessary information is communicated to the sales team.
  • Communicating with suppliers via the telephone when negotiating, developing relationships and finding solutions.
  • Ensuring Baxter Freight is legally compliant for all aspects of each consignment by ensuring documentation is checked, compliant and recorded where necessary.
  • Maintaining and improving UK & Ireland operational efficiencies.

Is this the Role for you?

  • You must have a 2:1 degree OR you have previous experience in a similar role and working environment.
  • Preferably, you have experience working in an office environment.
  • You must have excellent communication skills.
  • You should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft programs, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • You must possess exceptional customer service skills.
  • You must be comfortable speaking to suppliers over the phone and with internal stakeholders.
