Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Hitchin Office

Department: Supply Chain

Reporting to: Supply Chain Manager

Salary: Up to £21,000 per annum

Benefits: 28 days holiday plus all bank holidays, 5% company pension contribution, private medical insurance.

Purpose & Context:

The foundation of a good supply chain is the management of products and components whilst within the company’s stock and as they move into and out of our premises. The Warehouse Operative will take responsibility for managing the Inbound and Outbound Operation processes and systems that keep the supply chain flowing effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Processing orders and planning the dispatching of goods (picking, packing, despatching)
  • Ensure deliveries are processed and stored
  • Moving of large loads using mechanical lifting equipment (training will be provided)
  • Ensure that weekly audit of dispatch areas is completed
  • Liaise with Bybox Team, Engineers and transport companies when required
  • Make sure inventories are accurate
  • Maintain ‘no goods on the floor’ policy
  • Maintain a daily stock check.

Key KIPS:

  • Ensure Warehouse is kept clean and tidy as per the agreed standards
  • Ensure the spare parts and machine stock is stored as per the agreed LEAN standards.
  • Ensure all stock issues, picking, goods receiving and other WH processes are completed by agreed deadlines
  • Ensure all Byboxes /DPD Shipments are dispatched as per the schedule

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week but flexibility will be required to meet the demands of the role.

Note: The new candidate will be given a full training in this role – NVQ in Warehousing, fork truck license as well as on the job training.
