Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Nantgarw, Cardiff

Salary: £21,500 – £23,000 DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Biocatalysts develop and manufacture speciality enzymes from small to large scale quantities for a variety of industries such as food, flavor, fragrance, life science, pharma and fine chemicals. We are the only company offering a rapid, low-cost speciality enzyme service from discovery phase through to global shipment of regulatory compliant enzymes.

About the Role:

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for receiving deliveries of products, storage, material handling, stock management, packaging and despatching of products whilst ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiencies within the warehouse.

  • On time despatch of products, services and samples
  • Stock Accuracy

Need to know:

  • Warehousing operations
  • Safe manual and material handling
  • Operate mechanical handling equipment/fork truck licence (counter balance)
  • MRP system
  • Work in accordance with Food safety, GMP, Quality & EHS Management system

Key Activities:

  • Packaging of liquid and powder blended products for despatch
  • Ensure finalised product packaging and labelling is compliant with customer requirements in accordance with work instructions
  • Loading and unloading of goods
  • Manage goods received and booking in raw materials
  • Stock maintenance and accuracy
  • Packaging of samples
  • Housekeeping activities for warehouse and grounds to ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform other warehousing activities as required
  • Work in accordance with Food safety, GMP, Quality Management system
  • Carry out the responsibilities stated in the Managing Director’s Health & Safety
  • Policy, in particular those detailed in paragraph 8d of the Management Directive
  • Be conversant with and adopt the procedures stated in the Environmental Management System (EMS) Manual and it’s supporting documents

About you:

Qualifications / Education / Training:

  • 2 GCSE’s Grades A-C including Maths & English OR equivalent OR NVQ (L3) in Process or Manufacturing Operations or similar
  • Fork lift training certificate
  • Working at height (Desirable)

Experience:

  • Following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manual handling
  • Working in a food manufacturing environment (Desirable)
  • Working in controlled areas e.g. GMP, Clean room (Desirable)
  • Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Management systems (Desirable)

Knowledge:

  • Food Safety and HACCP
  • GMP (Desirable)
