About the role:

We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder or Fabricator to join our team. As a Welder or Fabricator at Impress Group, you will play a key role in producing high-quality components that highest quality standards and specifications, these may include a wide variety of components like subsea structures, subsea tooling, yellow goods, rail parts and automotive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and interpreting drawings, sketches and other data to be used in the preparation of the product to be manufactured.
  • Utilise MIG and TIG processes to create accurate components to clients specification.
  • Working with various sections, plate, laser cut and machined components 1-30+ mm thick
  • Ensuring work is carried out to exact tolerances, and that all operating conditions are correct before commencing manufacture
  • Maintaining accurate records of production and other operational data

About you:

  • Time-served Welder or Fabricator (using MIG or TIG), with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication / Welding or equivalent and proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with variety of metals including stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in welding and fabrication.
  • Good knowledge of workshop tools and processes (guillotines, band saw, rolling, laser cutting, brake presses etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Be a team player with a flexible attitude, and a good eye for detail
