Job Title: Yard & Machine Operative

Location: Aberdeen

Salary: £10.00-£14.00 per hour

Job Type: Full Time – Permanent.

Established in 1994, Roy Cowie is a 65 strong a team of proud professionals dedicated to providing a first-class service in landscape construction projects, ground and garden maintenance, tree surgery, gritting and snow clearing, both private and commercial, in Aberdeen and the North-east.

The Role:

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Yard and machine Operative. The successful candidate will earn £10.00-£14.00 per hour. The position is based across the company’s three yard in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. A van will be provided for travel.

Following an Interview, successful applicants will be required to work a probationary period of 12 weeks before being offered a written contract for full-time employment Salary will be based on experience and ability.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • General yard maintenance such as keep yards tidy, refuelling, greasing, sweeping etc.
  • Operating machinery including tracked excavator, telehandler, tractors, screener.
  • Processing and recycling materials.
  • Collecting and delivering machinery, parts, materials.
  • Carrying out a wide variety of tasks for the Directors and Contracts Managers of the company.
  • Occasional site-based work.
  • Adherence to safe working practices.
  • Completing works within the given timescales and to a high standard.

Candidate Requirements:

  • MUST HAVE A FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE. APPLICATIONS FROM NON-LICENCE HOLDERS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
  • Proactive and able to see what needs to be done next without constant direct supervision.
  • Experience and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of machinery.
  • Experience of manual outdoor work.
  • Able to react quickly to changes in scheduled tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physically fit.
  • Strong ability to lead and/or work in a team.
  • CV’S must include a full and dated employment history which is up to the present date.
